Mr. Free started at Kindezi Old Fourth Ward in 2015 as a founding teacher. From 2016 to 2019, he served as an Assistant Principal and Lead Testing Coordinator. In 2019, Mr. Free was promoted to the position of principal. In his ten years of education experience, Mr. Free has been instrumental in leading instruction and developing students and teachers in Barrow County Schools, D.C. Public Schools, Fulton County Schools, and Kindezi. He received his bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Educational Leadership at Kennesaw State University.
Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach for Math, Science, and Specials
Ms. Embry joined Kindezi Old Fourth Ward as a founding 2nd Grade Math and Science teacher in 2015. In the 2017-2018 school year, Ms. Embry was promoted to Teacher of Distinction and was accepted into the leadership pipeline. Prior to working at Kindezi, Ms. Embry had over 10 years experience in education as a tutor, After-School Coordinator, teacher, and a mentor for both students and teachers. Ms. Embry received her bachelors degree in Elementary Education and her masters degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix.
Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach for ELA and Social Studies
Ms. Hyler joined Kindezi in the 2017-2018 school year as a Second Grade Teacher and Grade Level Chair at Kindezi at Gideons. Prior to Kindezi, Ms. Hyler served in several leadership positions such as Dean of Students, Director of HeadStart, and Director of Education. Ms. Hyler received her bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education from University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. She also holds two masters degrees in Reading & Literacy Elementary Education from Walden University and Teaching & Learning Early Childhood Education from Liberty University.
Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach for ELA, Science, Social Studies
Ms. Graham joined Kindezi at Gideons in 2017 as a founding 5th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. In 2018, Ms. Graham was promoted to Reading Specialist at Kindezi at Gideons. Prior to Kindezi, Ms. Graham taught 4th and 5th grades in Fulton County Schools. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia, master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Valdosta State University, and her Tier I Educational Leadership certification from the University of West Georgia. Ms. Graham also has her Reading and ESOL endorsements.
Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach for Math
Mr. Posey joined Kindezi in 2015 as a founding teacher of Kindezi Old Fourth Ward. At Kindezi, Mr. Posey taught math and science in both fourth and sixth grades. He also served as the Director of the Tutorial Program and was the Grade Level Chairperson for sixth grade. Mr. Posey was recognized as a Teacher of Distinction in 2016. Prior to joining Kindezi, Mr. Posey taught in both the Griffin-Spalding County and Clayton County school systems. In 2012, he worked on the campaign to re-elect President Obama. Mr. Posey is originally from Alabama, and he received his bachelors degree from Xavier University of Louisiana.
